Why Are Lays crisps (or chips) called Lays everywhere except the UK, where they are called Walkers crisps?

Fixed it call sets in Europe and the U.S., but in the UK are called walkers? Why is that?

Most often happens when one company buys another and uses your product name in their own products. For example here in the states that have better food, mayonnaise on the west side of the country, but on the east side called Hellmans. It's the same product, but one company bought the other and continued to use the name that was already established in that part of the country.
